Why InkFlo

Notes shouldn't be lost when you edit them.

Handwritten notes are often overwritten, deleted by mistake, or conflicted across devices. We want notes to work like code: traceable, restorable, and branchable.

THE PROBLEM

Edits you can't undo

A half-written page gets overwritten or deleted, and the previous version is gone. After syncing across devices, the content conflicts.

THE INKFLO WAY

Every save is a version

Your notebook is a repository. View its history, restore any version, or branch off to try a different way of organizing. Your data stays in your hands.

Features

Made for Apple Pencil.

From the first stroke, it feels natural, and the details hold up through long writing sessions.

✒︎

Low-latency writing

The stroke path avoids any I/O or blocking work, aiming to keep the nib and the ink almost perfectly in sync.

〰︎

Smooth ink

After the pen lifts, the stroke outline is rebuilt automatically, for smooth lines with no sharp corners or jagged edges.

⇄

Import .goodnotes files

Import GoodNotes .goodnotes files as page sources, then keep writing and organizing. PDFs and images can also be imported as templates.

✎

PDF annotation

Import lecture slides and papers, then annotate them directly. The original pages are kept and can be exported again.

⌕

Handwriting and text search

Planned. Using the platform's native handwriting recognition, you'll be able to search every word you have written.

☁︎

Your data, your control

Local-first, with no self-hosted cloud server. Back up to iCloud, Google Drive, or your own Git remote.

AI assist

Box it, then ask AI.

On a note page, select any handwritten or on-page content and ask Claude, Gemini, or other AI services directly, without taking a screenshot or retyping.

HOW IT WORKS

Select → Ask

Box the content you want to ask about, choose an AI service, and type your question. Only the content you select and send is passed to the service you choose.

YOU DECIDE

Always your choice

If you don't select and send, nothing is sent. You choose which AI service to use, or skip the feature entirely.

Version control

Your note history, at a glance.

InkFlo's core difference: bringing git's ideas to handwriting. Every meaningful change is recorded, so you can go back to any point or branch off into a new attempt.

About us

We believe handwriting deserves to be kept well.

InkFlo is built by a team that loves both handwriting and engineering. We believe ideas on paper are precious, and once they're digital, they should be protected and always traceable. We stand for data ownership, writing first, and features that can be verified.
